Mike Unruh, bass clarinet, Susan Mayo, cello, and Max Ridgeway, guitar are all adept improvisers and have been collaborating together since the 80s. With impeccable muscianship and astounding creativity they are a feast for the ears.

Michael Unruh had little to do with playing music until he was 21 years old. Inspired to play the Bass Clarinet he enrolled at Wichita State University where he was taught the basics of clarinet playing by Dr. James Jones. On Bass Clarinet he is self-taught. Legitimate endeavors include 37 years playing Bass Clarinet for the Wichita Symphony, forty plus years of many chamber, jazz, and improvised concerts in the Wichita area and in many cities in the U.S. Composed and performed for the World Congress of Clarinets and the Composers Inc. competition in San Francisco. Featured on 3 CDs with the Bodo ensemble, duet CD’s with Max Ridgway and Ellen Burr, and solo recordings on Bandcamp (michaelunruh.bandcamp.com) and Youtube. Illegitimate endeavors include altering the nature of reality daily through improvisation.

Max Ridgway studied guitar with Jon Damian at Berklee College of Music, graduating in 1990, Summa Cum Laude. He holds a Masters degree in Music Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University where he currently teaches as an adjunct instructor.
